Tanu Mehra
Counsellor · Trauma-informed & Queer-affirmative
I am a practicing counsellor dedicated to providing a safe and therapeutic space for my clients. My approach is integrative, drawing from various models of psychotherapy, including CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamics, and Person-Centric Therapy.
I started my journey in therapy with clients aged 20 and above, but over the years I have expanded my expertise. I also work with children and adolescents (age 7–18), having completed a specialization in Child and Adolescent counselling. I find this work incredibly rewarding, as it allows me to support younger clients through some of the most transformative and challenging years of their lives.
Additionally, I hold a Diploma in Postnatal Depression Awareness, which has deepened my understanding of the unique struggles faced by new parents and expanded my ability to support families in this sensitive period.
As a trauma-informed and queer-affirmative counsellor, confidentiality and ethics are the most important pillars of my practice. I walk alongside my clients on their healing journey, offering them my utmost positive regard and letting them set their own pace and direction.
I believe self-connection, mental and emotional wellbeing are important human needs. I am here to facilitate this process and work with you towards your goals. I am here to listen.
